Body Scrub for Healthy and Silky Skin
Did you know the skin is the largest organ in your body?
Yup! If your body were a burrito, your skin would be the wrap around it, holding everything together.
Just like the Universe has billions of stars, the skin has countless pores. Think of it like a sponge that absorbs anything that enters in contact with it.
Do you take time to read the label on your beauty products, lotions, soaps, shampoos that you use on our skin?
Most of these contain harmful chemicals that when in contact with your skin, go directly to your bloodstream and spread throughout your body. These toxins find a place in the weakest parts of your body and can make you sick.
Sadly, today we find toxins everywhere.
It’s time to take action over your health and make the necessary changes!
Nowadays there are many companies like Honest and 100% Pure that offer safe products that you can use without worrying, but these products can be expensive!
It's time to take matters into your own hands!
One of my favorites bio hacks is skin scrubbing. It opens the pores, activates blood and lymph circulation, increasing the production of collagen. This expulsion of toxins keeps the skin looking young and firm.
Combining this with an active lifestyle and a healthy diet is a must if you want to have healthy skin.
Remember; beautiful skin comes from within.
My Homemade Body Scrub Recipe:
Ready to lather yourself with something that smells so delicious you’d like to eat it?
Don’t worry… it’s all organic, so even if you do, it won’t hurt you! Besides, why would you rub something on your largest organ, that you wouldn’t put in your mouth?
This recipe contains coffee known for its anti-inflammatory properties and cellulite reduction.
In combination with cocoa butter, an excellent source of natural antioxidants, make the perfect duo to cleanse and keep your skin healthy and luminous.
You can also add coconut oil which is naturally antibacterial or macadamia oil for extra moisturizing and anti-aging benefits.
Ingredients:
•Organic ground coffee (use the leftovers from your morning brew)
•Organic cacao butter (found in any health food store)
•Pure macadamia or coconut oil
Instructions:
Place your coffee grounds on a colander outside in the sun to dry.
When the coffee is completely dry add 2-3 spoonfuls of cacao butter. Mix them to create a paste.
Add a spoonful of coconut or macadamia oil to give more consistency to the mix. I like a stronger, more abrasive texture, but if you'd like a softer scrub, just add more oil.
Scrub your body 2-3 times per week preferably before going to sleep so your skin can absorb the oils.
Enjoy and let your significant other enjoy it too! ;)
PS: Don’t scrub your face with this body scrub… For the face, I’ll be sharing a soft and gentle scrub soon!
